After 14 years experience in military aviation, Hazzaa made history as the first Emirati (MBRSC Astronaut) to be deployed on a space mission to the International Space Station. Hazzaa graduated from Khalifa bin Zayed Air College from where he made his way to become an F16 pilot. Hazzaa's combined passions for astronomy and his country led him to join the UAE armed forces. He became an outstanding military pilot, the youngest to fly the UAE air force’s F-16B60, one of the world’s most advanced aircraft. He has participated in the 2017 National Day air show and the 2018 50th Anniversary of the UAE Armed Forces celebrations. He also took part in Exercise Red Flag, in which the best pilots from the USA, NATO and allied countries perform realistic air combat exercises.
